A simple, yet effective Christmas design to create for your dining table or home interior this season.
Follow our easy to follow step by step on How to Create a Cube Red Rose (or another colour if you’ve got a different colour scheme) and Cinnamon Design for your Christmas dining table this December.
Do it yourself
Step 1
Gather all your equipment to start creating the design. Please see below for the shoppist list. As we are using fresh flowers in this design, make sure that you condition (the guide) the roses before you start working with them. Depending on the size of the container you are using, will depend onthe roses required for the design.
YOU WILL NEED:
- Carbon Blade Scissors (or just sharp scissors)
- Floral Foam Bricks
- Glue Sticks – Hot Melt
- Hot Glue Gun
- Rose Freedom (colour of choice)
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Black Cube 12cm
Step 2
Start by decorating your container. We have chosen to use cinnamon sticks to decorate the cube as it is associated with the season and works perfectly with the size of the container.
Here, we have glued the cinnamon sticks to the plastic cube container using the hot glue gun. Make sure you keep the glue gin out of reach of any children and read the safety pre-cautions carefully.
Step 3
Once you have finished attaching the cinnamon sticks to the container and it is dry, you can finish with a bow using satin ribbon (example, 3mm).
Step 4
Measure the container and add a piece of soaked floral doam to the container as shown in the image.
Step 5
Cut the roses into shorter stems, leaving approx. 8 to 10cm of the stem. Cut the bottom of the stem at a 45 degree angle and slit up the stem to increase the surface area for the flower to uptake water. Remnove the guard petals (optional).
Step 6
Position the roses into the floral foam, starting in the corner and working in lines. For this container, there will be 3 down and 4 across. This may vary depending on the size of your vase.
Step 7
Continue to add the roses until you have finished the look.
Step 8
For further decoration for the table centrepiece, you can add caging to the design. Add midelino sticks creating a criss-cross pattern – simply bend the sticks at a right angle.
Step 9
Add bows for definition and glitter to add more interest.
