Origin
Achillea, Yarrow or Bloodwort is a genus of the Asteraceae family and typically grows in the wild across Europe, North America and temperate parts of Asia.
Achillea originally sprang from the blood of the hero Achilles, who killed at the siege of Troy. The soldiers used yarrow to treat the wounds on the battlefield, giving rise to the various names such as ‘Bloodwort.’
Colours and Shapes
This particular flower variety has board, packed heads of small flowers available in whites, yellows, oranges, pinks and reds. The foliage is an attractive feature of the plant, and most types have green feathery leaves, almost fern-like appearance. The greenery has a sweet aroma.

To get the best from your wholesale cut Achillea please read the care instructions below carefully:
- Cut the stems at a 45-degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Fill sterilised buckets with cold or luke warm water and add flower food.
- Place the Achillea in the buckets.
- Leave overnight to condition before using.
Never leave cut flowers in direct sunlight, near a radiator, in a draft or fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm most flowers). Keep the Veronica in a cool place and always keep out of the way of children.
It is a very popular flower for drying also because of its strong stems. At Christmas, Achillea is available dried in a range of colours i.e. metallic silver, bright red and gold to be used in decorations.
