Anigozanthos
Unusual and decorative, this flower variety is really quite special. Anigozanthos, also known as Kangeroo Paws is furry to the touch. With a strong primeval look, the tubular, curved and densely hairy flowers resemble the look of the foot and claws of a Kangaroo foot!
Colours and Shapes
This flower variety is available in various colours, from green, red, yellow to orange. It is also available almost all-year round, but suits fall particularly well.
Symbolism
The name Anigozanthos comes from the Greek word ‘anises’ – uneven and ‘anthos’ flower. The symbolism represents individuality and uniqueness! The red-green Kangeroo paws are the flower icon of Western Australia.
Shop Care Tips
To get the best from your wholesale cut anigozanthos, please read the care instructions below carefully:
- On reciept, check the flowers for any damage.
- Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Fill sterilised buckets with fresh cold water and add flower food.
- Place in the buckets.
- Leave over night to condition before using in a cool, low lit environment.
Never leave cut flowers in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm most flowers). Always keep out of the way of children.
Design Combinations
As mentioned earlier, the anigozanthos works beautiful in late summer and autumn designs. It combines beautifully with other flowers such as craspedia, hydrangea classic and ilex. The diversity of colours and the playful nature of the flowers lends itself well to combine with a large range of flower varieties.
